Day 8 – Mile 93.2 to Warner Springs

Friday, May 1, 2026. Clear, windy, 52 going up to 78.

Up at 5:30. Packed and ready to go at 6:00. On trail at 6:30. We have 16 miles to get to Warner Springs where we can resupply, wash laundry, and rest. Really looking forward to it.

We took a snack break in the shade at 7:50 and 4 miles in. Making good time.

We reached the 100-mile mark at 8:55.

Arrived at Barrel Spring for water at 9:20 and 7.7 miles. About a dozen hikers here.

Day 8 Water Trough

We crossed pastures for almost 3 miles with zero shade.

We stopped at San Ysidro Creek at 11:15 and 11.6 miles for water and a break. Back on trail at 11:50.

We got to Eagle Rock at 12.9 miles.

We reached Warner Spring Community Center at 1:40 and 16.2 miles. Great place. Large resupply selection. I don’t need much resupply for the next few days. Mainly breakfast and snacks. Brad got a ride to the post office to pick up his resupply. I ate an early dinner of microwave chimichangas and soda.

Washed clothes in a bucket. Talked to Pit Crew. Ate. Ate more. We decided to hike 3.1 miles further to camp. That makes tomorrow easier.

Got to camp at 6:30. In bed at 8:00.

Long hard day, but the 3-hour rest at Warner Springs was awesome. Just short of a 20-mile day.
