“Little Jimmy Jackson is jackin’ up his Bronco

He’s gonna lay a little rubber later on at the truck pull

And all the girls are getting pretty, sprayin’ on the White Rain

Yeah, they’re gonna get a rowdy tonight

Down at the football game, yeah

We let it rip when we got the money

Let it roll if we got the gas

It gets wild, yeah, but that’s the way

We get down in a Hicktown” – Jason Aldean

Up at 6:00. Started raining. Packed up and ready to go at 7:00. My tent is wet and a lot of my gear is damp. Ick. 18 miles to go today. Gonna rain on and off all day. Humid and mid-80s. On trail at 7:10.

Took a break at 8:10 and 2.1 miles. Back on trail at 8:25.

Break at 10:20. 6.2 miles down. We called the hotel and there are only 3 rooms available tonight and they don’t take reservations. Shared bathroom, not private bath. If we can’t get a room, we will Uber to the next real town tonight for a room.

PA is seriously rocky. Destroying our feet and shoes!

Back is hurting a bit again 🙁

Large prescribed burn. Hiked through it for an hour.

Reached Eagle’s Nest shelter at 12:10. Filled up on water as there is no more water till we reach town in 9 miles. Back on trail at 1:00.

Stopped at 3:30 for a break. We have 3.8 miles to go.

Tough steep descent into Port Clinton. I almost fell and Overkill did fall. No injuries.

Got to the Port Clinton hotel at 6:35. Dana called ahead for us and paid for two rooms. Awesome!

Interesting little town. Calling it a town is being very generous! There is the hotel, which is more like an old-school boarding house, the peanut shop, fire station, post office, good-sized railroad yard, and not much else. The hotel has 2 shared bathrooms for about a dozen bedrooms. It’s basic and functional. The bar and food menu were quite nice. Coin-operated laundry in the basement was decent.

Checked in, showered, did laundry, and had a real meal. Dried out my rain fly in the room overnight. We chatted with Tortilla and Mosey for a while at the bar. Chatted with Dana. In bed about 10:00
